With a population of around 250,000, Kitchener is roughly 100 km west of Toronto and is one of three cities that make up the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. Fun fact: the city was first called Berlin and was founded in 1807 later incorporated as a town in 1833. It wasn’t until 1913 that it was incorporated as a city. Three years later, a referendum changed the name from Berlin to Kitchener.
