The city was incorporated in 1991. It wasn’t incorporated until the 90s because it used to be two towns—Grand Falls and Windsor. When these two towns amalgamated, the new city was incorporated.
Central Health is the largest employer in Grand Falls-Windsor. In the past, the local paper mill was the second-largest employer, but it shut down more than a decade ago. It is sure to be a great experience for the kids.
During the winter months, you might want to snowmobile, snowshoe, or go cross-country skiing. You could also take in a show at the Queen Street Dinner Theatre, which offers performances during an eight-week summer run, as well as a March concert, and a series of shows at Christmas.
